| Everyone has heard the expression one man’s loss is another man’s gain. Rarely does life ever work out for the average person to prove that expression true.
October 2007 could easily prove the expression true for buyers here at CowHorseSale.
Fischer Farms was working on their sale list for their annual production sale when one of the worst things that can happen to a breeder happened.
Fischer’s large hay barn, filled with 2,800 tons / 5600 big square bales of premium alfalfa caught fire and completely burned. It was a total loss.
Faced with no hay and going into winter and just not any winter, but a South Dakota winter, Fischer Farms did what no one would want to be faced with. They basically just set their sale list aside and have listed practically all of the horses at Fischer Farms. It looks like their breeding stallions and the grandkid’s pony are the only horses safe from the auction.
With a large percentage of the horses being sold without a reserve set and those that do have reserves that are set at fair market value or below , this years sale promises to make gains for buyers at the expense of Fischer Farms loss.
Fischer Farms sale will run from 8:00 pm U.S. Central time October 1, 2007 through November 3, 2007 at 8:00 pm U.S. Central time.
